Burn Restrictions Lifted
As of June 5th, 2026, The Brantley County Board of Commissioners has officially lifted the burn restrictions for Brantley County.

Residents planning to conduct outdoor burning should note that any burn pile larger than 6 ft x 6 ft must be reported to the Fire Department prior to burning.


Please follow all applicable safety guidelines and exercise caution when burning outdoors.


Local State of Emergency Lifted

The Brantley County Board of Commissioners voted at last night’s meeting to lift the local state of emergency for Brantley County.


Thank you to our emergency responders, county staff, and residents for their cooperation and support throughout this period.

Please continue to burn responsibly and remain mindful of changing weather conditions.


Road Closures & Fire Status
As of May 9th, 2026, the Brantley Highway 82 Fires has burned approximately 22,420 acres and is about 90% contained.

As of May 3rd, 2026, Brantley County officials have lifted all mandatory evacuations tied to the Highway 82 Fire for areas with homes.

Use caution driving on Highway 32 as fire personnel are still actively working nearby.

The county has returned to normal operations, with the curfew lifted, schools and government services resuming, and crews continuing recovery efforts while urging residents to remain cautious.

Multiple Relief Organizations on the Ground
Samaritan’s Purse, Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief, Red Cross, Convoy of Hope, Faith Responders, CORE Response, and others are actively providing food, cleanup kits, shelter, and financial assistance. See the “Get Help” tab for full details.

Debris Cleanup Underway
Georgia Baptist Relief and Samaritan’s Purse are providing debris cleanup services. Faith Responders also has case management and cleanup assistance. See the “Cleanup” tab for more info.

Donation Drop-off Site Open Daily
Brantley County Family Connection is accepting clothing, non-perishable food, and cleaning supplies.
